Expro FPF upgrade delivers Chevron’s first oil
Customer challenges
  • Expro to prepare the production facility to process 50,000 bbl/day oil, 10,000 bbl/day produced water, and 55 MMscf/day of gas – together with 100,000 bbl/day of water injection for the Dibi Barge Project
  • The supply of a fast-track, fit-for-purpose EPF was crucial to meet first oil schedule
  • All work was to be undertaken in Nigeria 
Expro Excellence
  • Expro had significant understanding and track record of working on the vessel following an earlier refit and subsequent operations and maintenance
  • Production was increased from 20,000 bbl/day to 45,000 bbl/day for the client at the time
  • Process equipment was mobilised within 18 months from the contract award
  • The project was executed on a staged basis, starting with a FEED study to develop the EPF requirements, resulting in a contract award for the supply of the EPF including conversion of the barge into a full FPF, with design, procurement
  • and fabrication of the equipment modules, installation on the barge, and commissioning onsite, followed by operations and maintenance for two years
  • Associated offsite activities were also carried out including design, procurement and fabrication work for pipework and pipe supports, installation of this equipment, commissioning and sand pad dredging and installation 
Value to client
  • The FPF is a complete self-contained unit with a 36-man accommodation module and helideck
  • Processed crude is exported via flowlines to the Escravos terminal with the gas utilised as fuel or flared, and produced water is disposed of by reinjection
  • Expro’s track record and supply of a fit- for-purpose EPF
  • Rapid mobilisation: first oil within two years – on target and budget
  • Expro continued to provide support by means of operations and maintenance for a further two years
