New benefits of the upgrade:
• The Mud Pump Automatic Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) now comes with a touch screen wall mount HMI control console
• Individual Hydraulic Pressure Unit (HPU) for each PRV allows each valve and HPU to operate autonomously
• Time to open fully is less than 375 msec after mud pressure exceeds the setpoint
• Pressure-assisted sealing in closed position
• Valve body of forged construction, API 75K material, impact-tested
• Metal to metal sealing (no elastomers in gate and seat seal), provide extended service life between maintenance periods – validated by DNV witness testing to 250 pressure relief cycles, and still maintaining seal integrity
• ATEX certified for hazardous area – PRV & HPU is Zone 1 certified, Control Panel is Zone 2 certified
