The recent desire for increased reliability of sensing devices and real time data from the wellhead, combined with technological advances in optical data transmission, has focused the industry’s attention on optical fibre. In response to these requirements, we have developed a range of products to enable optical connectivity in subsea environments.
FoeTRON is a wet mateable optical/electrical connector and is a key element in any subsea communication systems as it provides the means for optical connectivity subsea. This advanced product provides a connector capable of repeated mating operations and long-time deployment in contaminated subsea environments.
The FoeTRON Wellhead fibre optic feedthrough system provides three principal functions:
The connectors have been designed to be installed into pre-defined interfaces, identical to those used for the ElecTRON electrical vertical feedthrough connector system. The design, therefore, offers the additional advantage of interchangeablility with ElecTRON electrical connector systems should this be required.
The combination of the FoeTRON wet mate connector range and the FoeTRON Wellhead Fibre Optic Feedthrough system provides a complete optical connection system between the fibre umbilical and the subsea and downhole gauges.
