Subsea Power Distribution

subseapower1.jpgOur 14kV 200A Dry Mate Electrical Connector forms part of a standard subsea electrical distribution system. With voltages of up to 14kV 3 phase being generated topside and transmitted via a sub sea umbilical cable, the Tronic 14kV connector makes the connection to a sub sea step-down transformer.

The stepped-down voltage is then distributed to the subsea load via Tronic electrical connector harnesses (e.g. 1.2 / 2kV 2000A).

The Tronic 14kV 200A connector is fully qualified for water depths of up to 1000m. As with all Tronic electrical connectors, the 14kV has been designed for ultra-high reliability.

This includes an electrical insulation system qualified to yield a factor of safety of 4 and a true level of redundancy against sea water ingress.
