Graduate Development Programme (GDP)
Expro’s GDP is designed to identify and develop high-calibre graduates within Expro.
The GDP places graduates in to a structured development programme, which has been designed to select, train and expose new graduates to all the relevant learning and experience necessary for them to move into a senior operational position at the end of the programme.
Graduates undertake the programme for two years, working through initial training and assessment and on to long-term global placements. The first phase is a four-month intensive training period in Aberdeen, UK, with exposure to product line engineers and experts, followed by assessment.
Once this has been successfully completed, graduates move onto a 20-month placement to provide relevant operational exposure in suitable environments. The pace of learning on the placement has been designed to be challenging, ensuring Expro’s graduates develop the necessary skills and knowledge quickly.
A Personal Development Plan (PDP) is created, in conjunction with the GDP programme manager, at the start of this period and monitored monthly to ensure targets are met. The PDP identifies the key areas of learning and development that graduates require to develop their skills and knowledge base.
Engineering Graduate Monitored Professional Development Scheme (MPDS)
Accredited by the Institute of Mechanical Engineering (IMechE), our four year accelerated structured development programme enables you to gain the necessary skills, experience and competencies to become a Chartered Engineer.
The first two years provides a wide range of structured placements around the business, primarily based in Aberdeen and Stirling, where you'll gain a breadth and depth of engineering experience and commercial awareness, together with increasing responsibility and autonomy.
From year three you'll be in a position of professional responsibility as an established Engineer progressing toward Chartership. You'll have significant development opportunities at your fingertips and the option to undertake international assignments.
The Expro Modern Apprenticeship Programme is available across the following UK divisions:
We work in partnership with local Colleges to bring the right balance of practical and theoretical learning. Successful candidates will follow the Science Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies Alliance (SEMTA) Modern Apprenticeship framework starting with level 2 in the training centre followed by level 3 within Expro.
This vocational programme is combined with a third component, further education, which together adds up to two vocational awards (SVQ level 2 and 3), an educational qualification and on successful completion the SEMTA Modern Apprenticeship (MA) Certificate. Candidates will also have the opportunity to work towards achieving further academic qualifications including NC, HNC and HND in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering via a local college.
