Expro’s team in SWA has achieved significant contract awards, adding new clients and new services to their portfolio.Expro’s business in SWA covers well testing, wireline intervention, subsea intervention, cased hole logging and, more recently, perforating including ‘shoot and pull’ operations in the Ivory Coast.
Significant investment is being made in Expro’s facilities across the region to position Expro for further growth opportunities in the region, with new facilities being developed in Port Harcourt, Cape Town, Luanda and Ghana. In recent years, the bases in Congo, Gabon and Ivory Coast have all been upgraded.
Block 31 has been a significant contract for Expro in the region, while Expro has been involved with Tullow in Ghana from the exploration & appraisal phase of its Jubilee project through to the fast-track delivery of a high-end electro-hydraulic subsea completion system.
The region continues campaigning to develop new subsea engineers and technicians as well as technicians for all other services. This will cater for the predicted growth in the region’s subsea market, into which Expro’s core skills and market-leading technologies are ideally placed to take advantage.
The region has received many commendations for our employees and passed some significant safety milestones. We continue to make excellent progress with our programme of subsea courses in the SWA Training Centre, which has ensured that the region is largely self-sufficient with subsea personnel. Feedback from the field locations on the standard of new recruits has been excellent.
