The Expro team in Latin America has significant strengths in a range of products and services within Expro’s portfolio. Our profile is raised across the region following a number of highly successful operations and contract awards.
In particular, Expro’s commitment to developing subsea technology gives our experienced team the ability to complete subsea wells using our large bore technologies, suited for deepwater pre-salt plays.
Brazil is one of the few rapidly expanding markets in the world today and is very important to Expro and as a result, we are investing heavily in people, infrastructure and expanding our product portfolio to provide our customers with the highest level of service. We have just completed the purchase of 7.5 acre green field site in Macae where we will build a new state-of-the-art base to service the deepwater basins of Santos and Campos
Our investment in the region recently culminated in a major contract win with key client Petrobras, Expro is now the largest supplier of slickline services in Brazil.
Our close alliance with Petrobras has been the driving force in the expansion of our well test and subsea services and provided the rationale behind major investment programmes including recruitment drives, dedication to ongoing training and asset expansion.
As part of our long-established workforce plan, Brazilian employees have been hired and trained, many being sent to Broussard and Aberdeen to receive practical training and gain exposure to our product portfolio.
We are also deploying our new technologies to Brazil, including Expro’s Tronic electrical monitoring system and our CATS wireless telemetry systems which will be utilized in subsea appraisal wells during the abandonment phase.
We have recently embarked upon the first ever activity offshore Argentina with exploration well testing for YPF Repsol and Siepetrol. CATS wireless telemetry systems have been mobilized to Brazil and are being utilized in subsea appraisal wells during the abandonment phase.
