The Asia region head office is in Kuala Lumpur with operational facilities covering areas from India, Indonesia, Brunei, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Australia. Expro’s team in Asia continues to make significant inroads in this very challenging and diverse environment.
Expro’s business in Asia covers large bore and conventional subsea activities, well testing, fluid sampling and measurement, production systems, and cased hole services from conventional slickline to e-line. Further new developments and investment in the specific area of lightweight intervention service units will further enhance our ability to access areas previously not open to us as a packaged solution.
The Asia region continues to make excellent progress in many aspects of Expro’s business.
The region has been expanding in to new operating countries and we are now working with new customers on challenging projects. These include completion of our first high pressure / high temperature well for ONGC in India and completion of our first deepwater electro-hydraulic subsea well working with our Chinese joint venture partners, COSL, in China for Husky Energy.
The Indonesian team has also successfully delivered a second well testing package for the high profile BP Tangghu project. Activity in Malaysia and Vietnam has remained high and in Thailand a recent three-year contract win for our slickline and cased hole services helps us to maintain a good foothold in that market.
Our teams in Borneo and Moomba, Cooper Basin, South Australia, have achieved significant safety milestones, demonstrating our commitment to Excellence in Operations. The Moomba team won an award for safety performance in the Santos Directors Awards 2009 in Australia, while in Malaysia our team has been awarded a Shell Goal-Zero award for achieving 1,080 non-recording incident days.
Our team in Asia remains committed to delivering further successes under Expro’s Excellence in Operations quality improvement programme, which focuses on safety, service quality and customer care.
