Expro is proud to mark six years of achievement in the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) awards, including having won the Oil & Gas industry sector award for four years in succession.
The accolade is given to companies who demonstrate the best statistical safety performance over the past five years, excellent health and safety processes and innovation in the training and development of staff.
Expro is the first service company to receive this honour, first winning it in 2006. The company’s commitment to maintaining the highest health and safety standards saw it retain the award in 2007, 2008, and the 2009 win made it four in a row. In 2010, Expro received a coveted Gold Medal from RoSPA in recognition of six years of industry-leading health and safety performance and commitment.
In October 2007, Expro recorded a significant safety achievement by completing five million man hours without a lost time incident. This represents a major milestone in the company’s Excellence in Operations programme and covers Expro’s entire worldwide operations – across all service lines.
The company has reinforced its commitment to personal development, training and world-class safety performance by building a network of global Centres of Excellence at each of the company’s main bases. This network includes centres in Egypt, South Africa, Malaysia, Brazil, Louisiana and Aberdeen.
This global network puts Expro in a tremendous position to support the learning and development of both existing and new employees, promote nationalisation and establish Expro as the leader in Well Flow Management training.
The Aberdeen Centre of Excellence is the flagship to the regional satellite locations and was officially opened in 2008 by Lord Cullen who, since leading the public inquiry in to the Piper Alpha disaster, has focused on the critical importance training and competence play in ensuring oilfield safety.
